About WorthOrHype

WorthOrHype reviews direct-to-consumer products — the kind sold through a single sales page with a countdown timer and a guarantee in large type. We exist because that category is almost entirely covered by people paid to praise it, and someone should be counting the actual evidence instead.

How this site makes money

Affiliate commissions, disclosed on every page before the first link. We buy no ads and we sell none. Nobody pays us for a review, a score or a placement, and no vendor sees a page before it is published.

The obvious question is whether commission bends the verdict. We removed the question instead of answering it: we only hold an affiliate link on a product we rate Worth It. Where the verdict is Mixed or Hype, we take no commission at all, and the page says so in as many words.

That is checkable rather than rhetorical, and it is not free. Products reviewed here have offered us commission — one of them recurring — and carry the line saying we earn nothing from them. A site that only ever concludes “worth it” is a catalogue; a site that gets paid to say otherwise is something worse.

What we will not do

Publish a satisfaction percentage when we could not find enough reports to compute one.
Call something a scam in a headline to collect the search traffic for that word.
Reproduce a vendor's sales page and call it a review.
Present a manufacturer's health claim as an established finding. Those claims are always attributed.
Review a product with no verifiable trace, however well its keyword performs.

Who writes this

Research and editing are done by the WorthOrHype editorial team. Every page carries the date its facts were last verified, and the verification is the work: reading the vendor's own documents against their sales page, counting the user reports that exist, and recording which searches returned nothing — that last part appears in our sources list, because a search that found nothing is evidence too.

We are naming the editor who signs the reviews publicly. Until that is finalised, pages are attributed to the team rather than to an invented expert — a line we are not willing to cross even temporarily, on a site whose whole argument is that most of this category is written by people who do not exist.

How a page gets made

The product has to clear the credibility gate first — at least 15 verifiable user reports, or its own Trustpilot or BBB profile, or a real trail on Reddit.
We collect what exists, count it, and read the guarantee against the company's own published documents. When the two disagree, both go in the page.
The verdict and the score are written before the buy button is added, never after. The score band is published on how we test so you can hold us to the same ruler.
The page states, on each link, whether that particular link earns us anything.
